1.    What kind of photography do you offer?

I offer photographic services for Maternity, Family, Newborn, Engagement/Couples, Bridal Portraiture, Commercial, Headshots/Modeling, High School Seniors, and Events.

I accept Wedding Photography commissions on a limited basis. Please contact me directly for details.  

2.    Will my images be in Color or Black & White?

I typically include several color, B&W and custom finished images in your gallery. If you prefer all Color or all B&W, please let me know when booking so that I am aware. 

3.    How do I book a session?

Please go to the Services tab of the website, select Packages/Sessions from the drop down menu, and then choose the best package that fits you’re your needs. If you prefer to book over the phone, that is just fine too. I do offer a 3% cash/check payment discount. Don’t see a package that’s right for you? No problem! Give me a call and we can build a package to fit your budget.

4.    When and how do I pay?   

To reserve your session date, a 50% Non-refundable Deposit is required. The remaining balance is due one week/7 days prior to your session date. Choose your session package here, add it to your cart, complete the form, and submit payment. SBP accepts MC, VISA, AMEX, cash and checks. Valid ID is required on all checks. There is a $35 fee on all returned checks.  In addition, please note that all SBP photo packages are priced based on the session taking place within a 20-mile radius of downtown Wilmington, NC. For sessions outside this area, please contact me for possible travel fees.

5.    Is my session payment refundable?

·      Cancellations:

o   If you cancel at least 15 days prior to your session date, you will refunded 100% of any balance paid, not-including the non-refundable 50% deposit.

o   If you cancel at least 72 hours prior to your session date, you will be refunded 100% of any balance paid, not-including the non-refundable 50% deposit AND less a $20 Late Cancellation Fee.

o   If you cancel within 72 hours your session date, you will be refunded 100% of any balance paid, not-including the non-refundable 50% deposit AND less a $40 Late Cancellation Fee.

·      Rescheduling:

o   There are no fees charged to reschedule a session, as long as you notify me directly within 48 hours of your session. 

o   If you need to reschedule and do not notify me at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled session, a $20 Reschedule Fee will be charged. 

o   In the event of emergency or illness the day of your session and you need to reschedule, please call me as soon as possible.  

6.    I want to book an Engagement Session. Can my children be in the shots?

For many reasons, I do not allow children in Engagement Sessions.

7.    When do I get my images?

Due to a very busy summer season, as of August 2017, my current lead times are ~4 weeks.

Standard gallery lead times (unless noted differently above), will be about 2-3 weeks after your session date. During the holiday season (November-December), lead times may be 3-5 weeks. If you order prints, albums or other merchandise, the lead times vary. Please contact me for details on specific products, or check out the Products section of the website.

8.    My child hates having their picture taken, what can I do?

Photo sessions with little ones can be tricky, especially with busy toddlers. I recommend that if your child is old enough to understand, then have a little chat with them a few days before the session, the day before, and/or the day of. Let them know what a photographer is and does, set the expectation for the day, and lay out a reward for their good behavior during the shoot, to be granted upon the end of the session. I have often found that the promise of a treat for smiles and good behavior during a session seems to work much better than scolding, begging and pleading with your child to sit still or behave.

Come what may, please do not stress! I will come equipped with some toys and treats (with your prior approval) that will get us through the session. I try to work as quickly as possible when shooting little ones, as their attention span is short! Also, keep in mind that the best photos of children are often those that happen naturally, when they are playing. Letting your little ones have a good time running around while I trail along with my camera taking shots typically yields beautiful results! 

9.    What happens if I, or my child, get sick before the shoot?

If you or your child becomes ill, please reschedule your session as soon as possible. For sessions that have to be rescheduled within 48 hours of the booking time, there will be a $20 rescheduling fee charged.

10. My session is at a public location, what do I need to bring?

If your session includes children, please bring any lovies, bottles, pacifiers, special stuffed animals, snacks, drinks, etc., that the child likes.  This may help us get through the session with ease J.     

Please bring your final payment for the remainder of the balance. I have a mobile credit card reader, if you choose to pay via credit card.                                                   

11. Can I snap some pics with my cell phone or my own camera during the shoot?

 I do not permit the use of cell phone cameras, tablets, film, video cameras, or digital cameras at any time during your session.

12. If my session is at a public location, how can I find you?

 We will arrange a designated spot to meet at the time your session is scheduled. I will also give you my cell phone number in case there is a delay on either end.

13. How much time do I have to purchase images via my online gallery?  

 Online, private galleries will be live for 6 months from the date posted. You can make additional purchases via the website at any time while your gallery is live.

14. Are you licensed?  

Yes, I hold a Photographer Privilege License issued from the State of North Carolina's Secretary of Revenue.

15. Do any outdoor, public locations charge photography fees? 

While most outdoor locations are free, there are a few locations in Wilmington and beyond charge fees and/or require permits for a professional photography shoot. Some of these locations include Poplar Grove Plantation and Airlie Gardens. If you choose a venue which requires a photography fee, I will let you know, and it will be up to you to handle the cost. You may also decide to choose another spot that does not charge a fee.  In addition, please note that all SBP photo packages are priced based on the session taking place within a 20-mile radius of downtown Wilmington, NC. For sessions outside this area, please contact me for possible travel fees.
